Manashi Pathak
Bamboo Artisan and Cultural Advocate

Manashi Pathak lives in Barpeta, near Kirtanghar, Assam, with her close-knit family of five — her father, mother, elder sister, and younger brother.

From childhood, Manashi has been deeply connected to the art of bamboo and cane work. Her journey began through online workshops, where she learned the fundamentals of craftsmanship. Eager to expand her skills, she gathered with others who shared knowledge of handcrafted work, and together they experimented, practiced, and grew.

What Manashi loves most about her craft is its authenticity and its connection to nature. Every product she creates is eco-friendly, rooted in Assam’s rich tradition of bamboo and cane. For her, this work is not just about making products but about sustaining culture and sharing Assam’s heritage with the world.

Through her initiative, Manashi hopes to bring the beauty and authenticity of Northeast India’s culture to a global audience. She believes it’s not just about her story, but about the collective effort to increase sustainability, preserve tradition, and highlight the craftsmanship of her community.
